Saint-Gobain Engineering & Quality Manager in Tampa, Florida
To manage all facets of Mulberry’s ceramic laboratory operations and Quality Assurance including ISO9001 registration. Support the business to manage and resolve technical issues relating to the customers. Support plant process/product engineering. Interface with R&D. Plan and systematize quality activities to ensure production goals are achieved in a time and cost effective manner and strive for continuous improvement in quality and productivity on a daily basis.
Performs all the duties in a safety, responsible manner in accordance with the S-G EHS Charter, Code of Ethics, Principles of Conduct and Actions and observe all Company and Government regulations.
Perform tests and experiments investigating methods of developing and/or improving products and processes.
Function as both a leader and participant of comprehensive projects and that recognize quality and process improvements.
Responsible for developing manufacturing processing techniques and direct technical work regarding the manufacturing of ceramic materials and products.
Directs testing of physical and chemical properties of ceramic materials.
Responsible for conducting research into methods of processing, forming, and firing to improve quality and to optimize existing product lines
Responsible for the development of enhancements for improved quality, productivity and cost-effective production
Ensures the operating efficiency of all areas of the plant, in compliance with Company policies, procedures and safety standards. Develops and recommends changes and continuous improvements as necessary.
Responsible for Quality Management system operations including Management Representative responsibilities and ISO9001:2015 certification, registration and audits. This is also to include internal and external quality audits.
Actively regulate and oversee all modules and activities in Quality Collaboration by design system (QCBD)
Support customer service to ensure customer satisfaction through interactions on customer concerns and complaints
Ensure continuous improvements in production, quality, safety and customer service while controlling costs.
Responsible for maintenance of specifications associated with customers. Correlate results and measurements with customer laboratories. Initiate specification change
Bachelor’s Degree in Ceramic, Material Chemical Engineering.
2+ years engineering experience plus progressive work experience in R&D or manufacturing and exposure to Quality Management Systems
Powder processing skills with particular experience with Isostatic Pressing and Spray Drying process
Knowledge of various ceramic powder characterization measure such as PSD, SA, DTA/TGA, powder X-ray diffraction and SEM.
Strong communication skills via phone, e-mail and in person.
Possesses analytical ability to define problems and develop solutions.
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as other CRM systems.
