Description

The Director of Application DBA Services is accountable for providing leadership for the overall CTO database landscape through tight partnerships with the application development community and the System DBA team. Application DBA Services is accountable for reducing complexity and optimizing cost while improving stability, reliability, dependability and the accuracy of the CTO data assets.

Qualifications

·Bachelor's degree in Technology or related discipline required

·15+ years’ experience in varying IT roles with increasing responsibility

·This role requires 10+ years of technology experience ranging from actual application development manager

·Experience including responsibilities in managing on and off-shore resources

·7+ years’ experience in management with a strong track record for on-time and on-budget performance while leading large, complex projects and record of being an agent of change

·10+ years of managing IT business partner relationships

·Thorough understanding of database technology, concepts, trends, architecture and operational

·best practices

·Strong working knowledge of Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase

·Candidate should have a deep understanding and hands on experience with at least one RDMS

·and foundational knowledge of others

·Ability to work with all levels of staff, including Executive Management

·Diverse background in all facets of the technology ecosystem (Hardware, Networking, Storage, Operating Systems, Application/Middleware technologies, Application Development

·Must possess a deep understanding of developing large scale data driven application solutions (Data warehousing and analytics, Extraction, Transformation and Load, Etc.)

·Exceptional oral communication and writing skills, with ability to synthesize complex concepts, and translate into "user-friendly" language for multiple audiences, including senior management, multiple internal constituents and regulators

·Strong analytical and quantitative skills

·Ability to quickly assimilate and analyze large amounts of information

·Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks, escalate or voice concerns or questions and exhibit strong people skills

·Experience in managing/leading geographically dispersed team

·Organizational savviness with ability to expand internal network across functions and various levels of seniority

·Ability to manage via influence and drive enterprise wide change

·Develop a strong working relationship with the Businesses, Finance, Technology, Audit, HR, Risk, Compliance, Architecture across the organization

·Highly disciplined in IT Process best practices

§COBIT Certification preferable

§Ability to define, articulate and re-engineer complex processes and procedures, with appropriate controls, and think both strategically and tactically while driving meticulous execution

·Able to navigate through large organizations to streamline and summarize multiple information points; create repeatable process to build consistency in presenting information

·Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

·Ability to lead/provide guidance to engineers during critical outages

·Highly skilled operational expertise with experience in driving organizations from being a reactive to a proactive

·Ability to understand clients’ needs and provide solutions to address business requirements

·Sound approach to vetting and prioritizing deliverables
